Trygonal supports Swissloop
The Trygonal Group supports the Swissloop transport concept created by ETH Zurich students.
The Swissloop team has overtaken thousands of other teams and is a finalist in the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition by US entrepreneur Elon Musk. Its vision is to revolutionize the transport of people and goods over great distances and to network cities far apart from each other.
The Hyperloop concept is essentially based on vacuum technology: The vacuum tunnel massively reduces air resistance, enabling smooth driving at speeds of up to 1,000 kilometers per hour. The guide wheels as well as drive wheels in different rubber and polyurethane compounds come from Trygonal and should help the pod to maximum acceleration / deceleration and speed.
This summer, the Swiss get another chance to prove themselves with their improved pod in the second and final round.
Of course, the challenge of creating something fundamentally new, such as revolutionizing the traditional means of transport, motivates us tremendously, says Thomas Zehnder, Managing Director of Trygonal.
The final round of the Hyperloop pod competition will take place on July 22, 2018 at SpaceX headquarters in Hawthorne, California.
